Ordination as Priest:
He was ordained a priest on 4 May 1978. His early pastoral assignments included serving as an assistant parish priest, including at the Cathedral, where he would have engaged in the daily liturgical and pastoral needs of the community.
Pastoral Initiatives:
In 1982, he was given the responsibility to open the mission in Bidar, a role that underscored his commitment to serving in areas that were less developed or had significant pastoral needs.
By 1999, he was appointed as the Episcopal Vicar of Bidar, further affirming his leadership within the local Church context.
Episcopal Appointment and Service:
The Diocese of Gulbarga was created on 24 June 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI, as part of a reorganization to better serve the Catholics in North Karnataka.
Most Rev. Robert Miranda was appointed as its first bishop.
He received episcopal consecration on 18 August 2005 and has since been serving as the Bishop of Gulbarga, shepherding the diocese in a region noted for its socio-economic challenges.
