Rev. Fr. Roshan Dsouza :
Fr Roshan Dsouza is a zealous and visionary priest of the Diocese of Gulbarga, passionately committed to proclaiming the Gospel through both pastoral ministry and creative digital evangelization. A native of Fajir Parish in the Diocese of Mangalore, he brings with him a rich spiritual heritage, academic excellence, and an unwavering dedication to the Church’s mission.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Arts from St Aloysius Autonomous College, Mangalore (now a deemed-to-be university), followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Konkani Literature from the same institution. A gifted writer from a young age, he published two Konkani short story collections—Sopann and Thorniyo Ankriyo—during his student years.
Responding wholeheartedly to God’s call, Fr Roshan joined the Diocese of Gulbarga and began his priestly formation at St Joseph’s Interdiocesan Seminary, Jeppu. He pursued his Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Ph) at St Peter’s Pontifical Institute, Bangalore, and completed his theological studies at St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu. His Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) was awarded by the prestigious Urbaniana University in Rome.
Fr Roshan was ordained to the priesthood on May 1, 2018. Soon after, he was appointed as the first Chancellor of the Diocese of Gulbarga and served as the Bishop’s Secretary. During this period, he launched the diocesan YouTube channel and redesigned the official website, making it more dynamic, engaging, and user-friendly.
Currently, he serves as the Parish Priest of St Ann Church, Wadi—a town known for its thriving cement industry and vibrant Catholic community. His pastoral ministry is marked by deep devotion, clarity of communication, and a heartfelt closeness to the people.
As Director of Premavani Communications—the official media apostolate of the diocese—Fr Roshan has been at the forefront of digital transformation. Upon becoming Secretary for the Commission for Social Communication, he established a fully functional studio and secretariat under the name Premavani Communications. Though the name previously existed, he revitalized it with fresh vision and purpose, making it a recognized media identity in the diocese.
He personally designed the commission’s logo, rich in spiritual symbolism: a dove carrying a message of love, a cross in the background representing Christ’s sacrifice, and waves symbolizing the spread of the Good News to the ends of the earth.
As Editor of Sinchana, the diocesan magazine, Fr Roshan plays a vital role in nurturing faith formation and promoting pastoral awareness across the diocese. In addition, he serves as Secretary of SIGNIS Karnataka, contributing to the growth and unity of Catholic media professionals throughout the state.
A passionate educator and advocate of responsible digital engagement, Fr Roshan regularly trains teachers, clergy, religious, and youth in media literacy and Artificial Intelligence. He is highly skilled in web management, app development, video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro), and graphic design (Photoshop), producing high-quality digital content to further the Church’s mission.
His daily Gospel posters, inspirational WhatsApp status videos, and the diocesan mobile app have touched thousands of lives—bringing God’s Word to hearts and homes, especially among the digitally connected faithful.
An eloquent speaker, creative toastmaster, and inspiring preacher, Fr Roshan is frequently invited to serve as Master of Ceremonies at major diocesan and religious events, including ordinations and jubilees.
In all his ministries, Fr Roshan Dsouza reflects the spirit of a contemporary missionary priest—deeply rooted in tradition, bold in innovation, and wholly committed to bringing the light of Christ into every sphere of life, from pulpits to pixels.
