Kalaburagi, August 6, 2026: The Diocese of Gulbarga organized the Clergy Gathering and Recollection 2026 at Sugyan Pastoral Centre, bringing together the priests of the diocese for two days of prayer, reflection, fraternity, and pastoral renewal.
The gathering commenced with the Rosary and Evening Prayer. The day concluded with a fellowship dinner, a cultural evening, and an opportunity for the priests to strengthen their bonds of fraternity. The second day began with Morning Prayer and Meditation. The highlight of the recollection was an inspiring talk by Fr. Vincent Pereira on Pope Leo XIV’s Encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, encouraging the clergy to deepen their commitment to the Church’s mission and respond creatively to the pastoral challenges of the modern world. The session was followed by an interactive discussion.
The priests then spent time in Eucharistic Adoration and celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation, renewing their spiritual commitment before participating in the Holy Eucharist, the spiritual summit of the gathering. Following the Eucharistic celebration, diocesan announcements were shared, and Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, delivered his concluding message. He encouraged the priests to remain united in fraternity, deepen their spiritual lives, and continue serving the faithful with renewed zeal and dedication.
The gathering concluded with fellowship over lunch, friendly volleyball matches that fostered fraternity among the clergy, and a farewell tea before departure. The annual Clergy Gathering and Recollection served as a meaningful occasion for prayer, reflection, ongoing formation, and priestly communion, reaffirming the Diocese of Gulbarga’s commitment to nurturing a united and spiritually vibrant presbyterate.
