In a meaningful step towards rehabilitation and empowerment, the Prison Ministry of India – Gulbarga Diocese, in collaboration with The Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust, Kadaganchi, inaugurated a three-month Computer Training Programme for 30 inmates at the Central Prison, Kalaburagi. The programme was formally inaugurated by the Chief Superintendent of the Central Jail, Mr. K. Suresh, who lit the ceremonial lamp and encouraged the inmates to make good use of this opportunity to build a better future.
The Superintendent, Mr. Rakesh Kamble, and the Deputy Superintendent, Mr. Chennappa, were also present on the occasion and appreciated the initiative aimed at skill development and reintegration of prisoners into society. The entire programme was organised under the able and dynamic leadership of Fr. William OCD and his dedicated team, who have been consistently working for the welfare, reform, and dignity of prisoners.
This initiative reflects the Church’s mission of compassion, rehabilitation, and restoration, offering inmates not just technical skills but renewed hope and confidence for life beyond prison walls.
