Jeevan Jyothi Camp Successfully Conducted for 10th Standard Students by Youth Commission of Gulbarga Diocese

Bhalki, October 2024 – The Youth Commission of Gulbarga Diocese organized a vibrant and faith-filled Jeevan Jyothi camp for 10th standard students from October 10th to 13th, 2024, at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Bhalki. Themed  ‘ಹೊಸ ಕನಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು’(New Steps in New Dreams*), the camp saw enthusiastic participation from 96 students, along with 18 dedicated resource persons.

The camp commenced on the evening of October 10th at 6:30 pm, with Bishop Robert Michael Miranda blessing and distributing rosaries to the attendees. He led the Rosary prayer and celebrated the inaugural Mass, during which he highlighted the importance of the Word of God and the call to live a life rooted in faith.

Throughout the camp, a wide range of topics were covered by various speakers. These included: 

– Dynamics of Jeevan Jyothi Camp by Bp. Robert Michael Miranda 

– Love and Friendship by Fr. Vijay 

– Importance of Sacraments by Fr. Lawrence 

– Biblical Leadership by Fr. David 

– Purity of Life by Fr. Christopher SJ 

– Dynamics of ICYM by Fr. Clevan Gomes 

– Value of the Word of God by Fr. Gerald Sagar 

– Call to Religious Life by Fr. Deepak 

– Who is God for Me by Fr. Clary 

– Mother Mary by Fr. Sathish OFM 

– Personal Hygiene for Boys by Fr. Sachin Christy 

– Personal Hygiene for Girls by Sr. Lenet SRA 

The inauguration was marked by a symbolic event where seven individuals carried colors of the rainbow, each representing different values. The camp featured interactive group activities such as games, action songs, and culminated with a lively campfire on Saturday evening.

The students were divided into six groups named after saints: St. Lawrence, St. Francis Xavier, St. Mother Teresa, St. Barthalomea, St. Alphonsa, and St. Anthony. On the final day, a cultural program was performed by the students, and participation certificates were distributed.

Fr. Sachin Christy, Youth Director of Gulbarga Diocese, led the camp’s coordination, with support from animators Sr. Leena, Sr. Kamala, Sr. Lenet, Sr. Regina, Sr. Prasintha, Br. Royston, Sr. Aloka, and Sr. Banu. Fr. Sachin expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants and organizers for ensuring the camp’s success.

The camp concluded on Sunday, October 13th, at 2:00 pm, leaving the participants enriched and inspired to take “new steps in new dreams.”
