74 Years of Grace: Bishop Robert Miranda Celebrates Birthday with Faithful

The 74th birthday of Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda was joyfully celebrated on April 10, 2026, at the Mother of Divine Grace Cathedral, bringing together clergy, religious, and faithful in a spirit of gratitude and communion.

The celebration began with a solemn Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration presided over by the Bishop himself, concelebrated by priests of the diocese. The liturgy was marked by prayerful participation and thanksgiving to God for the gift of the Bishop’s life and dedicated pastoral ministry.

Following the Holy Mass, a short but meaningful felicitation program was organized collaboratively by the Interreligious Forum for Peace and Justice, the Interdenominational Forum, and the Cathedral Parish. On behalf of the Cathedral, Rev. Fr. Praveen Joseph, along with Dr. Kiran George and Viola, felicitated the Bishop, expressing heartfelt appreciation for his leadership and service.

The program witnessed a beautiful gathering of leaders from various faiths and communities, highlighting unity and harmony. Among those present on the dais were Swamiji Karuneshwar, Sanjay Makal, Rizwan, Gurmith Singh, Sr. Rose Ann, and Fr. Maxim SJ. Fr. Maxim SJ delivered a warm toast in honor of the Bishop, while Fr. Francis and his team added joy to the occasion by leading a melodious birthday song.

In his address, Bishop Robert Miranda expressed sincere gratitude to all present, acknowledging the support and accompaniment of priests, religious, and the faithful in his pastoral journey. He emphasized the importance of unity, service, and shared mission in building a vibrant Church and society. The celebration concluded with a fellowship meal served to all attendees. The faithful extended their wishes to the Bishop with flowers, shawls, and garlands, making the occasion a memorable expression of love, respect, and gratitude.
