Kalaburagi, September 7, 2026: Mother Teresa Charitable Hospital (MTCH), Kalaburagi, marked a significant milestone in its mission of compassionate healthcare with the blessing and inauguration of the Padre Pio Block, along with the launch of four new health initiatives. The programme was held on Monday, September 7, 2026, as part of the inter-religious celebration of the Feast of St. Teresa of Kolkata The newly inaugurated Padre Pio Block is envisioned as an important addition to the hospital’s healthcare services, strengthening its commitment to providing quality and compassionate care to people, especially those in need. During the programme, four new healthcare initiatives were officially launched:
- Manasa Jyothi – Mental Health Rehabilitation
- Mother Care – Community-Based Palliative Care
- Divya Sparsha – Physiotherapy Centre for Stroke, Orthopaedic and Neurological Rehabilitation
- Arogya Sathi – Home-Based Nursing Care
The blessing and inauguration of the Padre Pio Block, followed by the Holy Eucharist continued with an Inter-Religious Celebration of the Feast of St. Teresa of Kolkata The celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga and Chairman of the MTCH Trust. The event brought together public representatives, healthcare professionals, religious leaders, social workers, community leaders and well-wishers from different faith traditions. Among the chief guests were Shri Basawaraj Mattimudu, Hon’ble MLA, Kalaburagi Rural; Mr Sanjay Jagirdar, Vice President of the Karnataka Christian Community Development Corporation; Mr Sharan Pappa, President of the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kalaburagi; Dr Bandeppa S. Dhanni, PDO, Aurad, Kalaburagi; Fr Santosh Bapu, Vicar General, Kalaburagi; and Mr Santhosh Varghese, CEO, Darsh Hospital, Kalaburagi.
The celebration was also graced by guests of honour including Fr Ronald Fernandes, CRI President, Kalaburagi; Mr Goudesh Biradar, Founder and Principal of Shri Ram School; Mr Neil Varghese, President of Think Tank Group, Kalaburagi; Mr Simeon Samuel, Secretary, United Christian Forum for Human Rights, Kalaburagi; Mr Avinash, Press Reporter; and Dr Reeta, Community Project Officer, Kalaburagi.
