The Bicentennial birth anniversary celebration of Venerable Mother Veronica, the foundress of the Apostolic Carmel was celebrated on 1 October 2023 on Sunday. A solemn mass was celebrated by the Bishop of Gulbarga, Most Reverend Dr. Robert Michael Miranda, and concelebrated by Fr Wilson Fernandes, the parish priest of St Joseph Church, Bidar, as well as Reverend Fr Anil Prasad, the Regional Pastoral Plan Coordinator. As a part of this event, a blood donation camp was also organized at Saint Joseph’s English Medium School under the leadership of Maria Nilaya and Carmel Niketan Sisters in collaboration with Breams Hospital Bidar, as a mark of this event. Dr. Anil Chintamani, District Transport Officer, Dr. Mallanagowda Patil, Medical Officer, Blood Bank Bidar, Mrs. Kavita Prabha, Secretary of Inner Wheel Club, Mrs. Anita Chintamani, President of Inner Wheel Club, and Stuti Councilor were present at the inaugural program. It was great to see that a good number of donors took part in this good work by donating blood in an effort to save another life. All the sisters, youth, social workers of Carmel Seva Trust, and well-wishers joined to make this camp successful.
