The celebration of Bhalki Jathrostva 2022 and Ruby Jubilee of Bidar Mission took place at Infant Jesus Shrine, Bhalki on 4-6 November 2022. The celebration of Jathra began in Bhalki City with the procession of the Infant Jesus. Most Rev Dr. Alyosious Paul DSouza, Bishop emeritus of Mangalore, and Most Rev Dr. Robert Miranda, bishop of Gulbarga, Priests, Sisters, and Laity joined in the solemn procession. Various plots in the procession brought gospel values to people of other faiths. After leading the first Novena in the shrine, Bishop Aloysius celebrated the holy Eucharist. It was an occasion for thanksgiving for the work of the Mangalore Diocese and Bishop Basil Salvadore. The inter-Denomination Bhajan competition was held under the leadership of Fr Anil Crasta.
On 5 November 2022 Most Rev Dr. Henry DSouza, Bishop of Ballary celebrated the Holy Eucharist. On the second day of the celebration, there was Bible Patana, a proclamation of God’s word, adoration, and a night vigil.
On 6 November 2022 as a thanksgiving celebration Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha presided over the Holy Eucharist. The Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo preached on this great procession. All Priests and Sisters who served in the Bidar mission were felicitated and thanked on this occasion. A Jathra fag was lowered by the bishop to conclude the celebration.
