The CRI Gulbarga Diocese meeting was held on 9th August 2025 with around 92 participants beginning with a prayer led by Fr. Roshan SJ, followed by a welcome address from Fr. Maxim. An inspiring talk by the Bishop and the CRI President’s message set the tone for the day.
Recalling the feast of St. John Marie Vianney, patron saint of priests, celebrated on 4th August, the diocesan priests along with the Bishop were wished and honoured.
The new CRI executive team for the unit, along with the zonal teams, were elected, marking a significant step in strengthening the leadership and collaboration within the Diocese.The new diocesan executive team are Fr. Ronald CSC, the president, Sr. Mariyamma SJT, the secretary and Sr. Lydia Cutinha UFS, the Treasurer.
A talk by Fr. Vincent Pereira, the resource person, who shared that “Synodality in Gulbarga Diocese can become a vibrant reality when we commit to listening deeply, involving youth and families as partners, walking patiently through challenges, forming faith-filled communities, and joining hands in mission.”
The Holy Mass was celebrated by the Bishop and concelebrated by the priests. In his homily, the Bishop invited all to listen attentively to God’s word, keep Him at the center of life, live with gratitude, and serve God and the poor with love.
Lastly the former President Fr. Maxim discussed the Action Plan of KRCR priorities and the Treasurer and Secretary presented their reports. The program also included a felicitation of the CRI Team. Sr. Vasantha delivered the vote of thanks, followed by welcoming the new members with a rose flower by New executive team and the day concluded with tea and a warm farewell, marking an eventful gathering of prayer, fellowship, and planning for the future of the Diocese.
