Two deacons were ordained as Priests for Gulbarga Diocese by Most Rev Dr Robert Michel Miranda, the Bishop of Gulbarga on 13 May 2022 at St Antony Minor Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysore
The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the bishop along with other concelebrant priests including Msgr. Stany Lobo, Vicar General of the diocese, Rev Fr N P Joseph, Rector of St Antony Minor Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysore. Bishop in his homily and instructions to new priests emphasized the importance of Priesthood and their ministry to the church which is Missionary in nature. After rites and rituals, the Rite of Ordination; the promise of obedience to the Bishop, prostrating and seeking the help of the saints, laying on of hands invoking the Holy Spirit, anointing of the Hands, receiving the chalice and finally the Kiss of Peace given by bishop in the presence of priests, religious and faithful. The Holy Eucharist continued with two new priests along with the bishop at the altar. The two new priests include Fr Sachin Christy, Immaculate Conception Church, Kudlur, Mysore. Fr Abhishek Moses, St Antony Minor Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysore.
The family members organized a short felicitation program to honor and congratulate Newly Ordained Priests and their parents. Fr Sachin and Fr Abhishek expressed their deep sentiments of gratitude. Rev. Vincent Periera compared the felicitation program. Fr Joseph Marie, Commission Secretary for Liturgy compared the liturgical ceremony.
