Yadgir, June 12, 2026: The Don Bosco Centre for Social Action (DBCSA), Yadgir, achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving two prestigious district-level honours during the observance of the World Day Against Child Labour at the Government Degree College Auditorium, Yadgir.
The awareness programme was jointly organized by the District Legal Services Authority, District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Labour Department, Department of Public Education, Women and Child Development Department, Police Department, and various NGOs working in Yadgir district.
In recognition of its outstanding contribution to child welfare, child rights promotion, and community development, DBCSA was honoured as the “Best NGO” in Yadgir District. Adding to the celebration, Fr. Shabu Francis, Director of DBCSA, received the “Best NGO Person” Award for his dedicated leadership and tireless efforts in safeguarding the rights and well-being of children and marginalized communities.
The programme witnessed the active participation of 517 individuals, including school children, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, teachers, government officials, and representatives from civil society organizations. The event served as an important platform to raise awareness about child rights, the harmful effects of child labour, and the collective responsibility of society to ensure a safe, healthy, and dignified future for every child.
The twin recognitions conferred upon DBCSA and Fr. Shabu Francis stand as a testament to their unwavering commitment to child protection, social justice, and the holistic development of vulnerable communities across Yadgir District. The awards also acknowledge the organization’s continued efforts in creating awareness, empowering communities, and advocating for the rights and welfare of children.
