Kalaburagi, June 12, 2026: A district-level awareness programme was organized in Kalaburagi on the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour, bringing together students, government officials, legal authorities, and social organizations in a collective commitment to protect children’s rights.
The event was jointly organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), District Administration, Zilla Panchayath, Labour Department, and supported by St. Mary’s PU College and School, Don Bosco PYaR, and the Margadarshi Society.
The programme began with an awareness rally led by students and officials, spreading the message against child labour and promoting every child’s right to education. A stage programme followed, featuring the unveiling of an awareness poster, a pledge against child labour led by Sri Srinivas Navale, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary of DLSA, and a thought-provoking skit performed by school children highlighting the dangers of child labour.
Addressing the gathering, social worker Mr. Anand Raj emphasized that every child belongs in a classroom and not in a workplace. The event was attended by Fr. Kuriakose, Fr. Joseph Praveen, labour officials, and representatives of the District Administration.
The programme concluded with a community meal, reinforcing the shared commitment to building a child-friendly and child-labour-free Kalaburagi.
