A two-day training program for the Youth of Gulbarga Diocese and for the Youth Animators was held on 24-25 June 2023 at Sugyan, the pastoral center of the diocese. Inaugurating the day, most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, Rev Fr Lourdu Raj, Regional Youth Coordinator, Rev Fr Christy, Director of Youvachethana, and Mr. Naveen Antony, Regional Youth President, were the chief guests and lit the lamp to declare the day open and commence the session. Bishop congratulated the youth on their success as he delivered his presidential speech. As he continued, he said, “The youth of those days had experienced a tremendous change, and now, thanks to the education aid provided by the diocese, they are excelling in different fields and are taking advantage of it.” In the DEXCO election, the newly elected ICYM office bearers of all the parishes and mission centers participated which was conducted by Fr Sachin Christy, the Youth Director for Yovachethana in the Gulbarga diocese. Following that, participants were led to elect worthy candidates for the DEXCO team and the event was successful.

The Regional Youth Coordinator Fr. Lourdu Raj and the region youth president Mr Naveen Antony spoke about how the youth activities taking place on the diocese level are connected with those going on at the national level. They also spoke on the duties and responsibilities of youth. They led the groups into activities and made the session more interesting. Nearly 65 members participated in the session and benefitted from it. The whole event was coordinated by Fr Sachin Christy and Sr Leena Bennies BS.
