The mission orientation program was organized throughout the Diocese of Gulbarga to keep Parish Pastoral team active and effective in the parish.
Santhpur Zone:
Santhpur Zone Mission Orientation Program was organized on 16 June 2023 at Holy Cross Church, Santhpur. Zonal priests, and religious and Parish Pastoral Council members of Santhpur, Ujini, Ekamba, and Kamalnagar were present at this session. The Mission Directors of all four mission centers shared the growth and challenges of the mission and evaluated mission activities of the last year. The lay leaders made very pertinent interventions during the orientation. DPP coordinator Fr Stany Lobo explained the strategy of planning the center’s action plan and Bishop explained the different thrust areas of the Mission. Bhalki Zone Mission Orientation was held on 16 June 2023 at Holy Redeemer Church, Bhalki. Halbarga and Bhalki centers took part in the session including a few lay leaders from both places. During the meeting, both Fr Salvadore and Fr Rocky presented their Mission progress reports. Bhalki was a very old mission that started in 1983 and was also a pilgrim center. The lay leaders of the Mission interacted and expressed their happiness at the growth of the Mission. Humnabad Zone:
Mission Orientation for Humnabad Zone was held at Orbit for Humnabad Zone on 19 June 2023. It was attended by Jalasangvi, Itga, Talmadgi, and Humnabad centers. The three Directors Fr Vincent Thoras, Fr Sunil Mankare, Fr Livin, Fr Victor Vas, and Sr Roseline shared the mission activities done in their respective centers. Bishop enlightened the members about the DPP perspective. The orientation gave the right perspective of the Mission. Around 25 participants participated in the program. Fr Victor Anil Vas organized the whole event.
Kaudiyal Zone: Mission Orientation was held for the Kaudiyal at Kaudiyal Zone on 19 June 2023. This was attended by Muchalamba Center, Hulsoor Center, and Kaudiyal Center at Chritashrama, Kaudiyal. Around 20 participants participated in the program. The three directors Fr Mark, Fr Arogya, and Fr George Lobo shared their mission activities in their respective centers. Bishop enlightened the members about the DPP perspective. The orientation had given the right light perspective on the Mission. Fr George Lobo arranged all arrangements.
Bidar Zone: A mission orientation meeting was held at Sacred Heart Church in Bidar on 22 June 2023 as part of the Bidar Zone Mission. It was attended by the Sacred Heart Church, the St Joseph Church, and the Don Bosco Church, Chikpet, as well as a large number of guests. During this session, a few lay leaders, as well as priests, sisters, and other religious leaders, also attended. Reports were presented by each parish priest, the headmistress of the school, and the principal in a very systematic manner. Sr Christine Misquith, an outstanding missionary shared her mission experience and gave suggestions for a smooth parish action plan. During his talk, Most Rev Robert Miranda talked about the perspective of the diocese on the mission and enlightened the members about mission aspects. The DPP coordinator facilitated the whole program. Fr James SDB thanked all. Fr Wilson Fernandes organized the whole program beautifully.
Vijayapur Deanery
As part of the mission orientation program for Vijayapur Deanery, a program was organized at the St Ann Church in Bijapur on 25 June 2023. Bishop Robert Miranda celebrated the Holy Eucharist concelebrated with Eleven Priests of the Bijapur Deanery. The Mission Orientation program continued in the Conference Hall beginning with the prayer service led by RNDM Sisters of Almel. The Superior of Vijayapur district, Rev Fr Francis Menezes SJ welcomed the gathering. Fr Anil Joel Prasad, the Regional Coordinator of KRPPC Bangalore, and Fr Clary Dsouza were two resource persons who spoke about their missionary lives. The talks gave a lot of positive reflections which were appreciated by all. As a follow-up, the Bishop presented the DPP perspective and encouraged all priests, sisters, and members of the PPC to work for the church’s mission as a team. Fr Francis Menezes SJ thanked all.
