Gulbarga Diocese recently hosted a three-day Mission Orientation Program spanning its three deaneries. The event commenced on Friday, June 14, at ORBIT in Bidar, continued in Gulbarga on Saturday, June 15, and concluded in the Bijapur Deanery on Sunday, June 16.
Fr. Richard Quadros SVD served as the resource person for the program. His insightful sessions focused on the mission and understanding of Church documents, emphasizing the proclamation of glad tidings. The orientation aimed to enrich participants’ knowledge and commitment to the Church’s mission. The event also welcomed newcomers, integrating them into the diocese’s vibrant community. The program provided an excellent platform for new members to engage with the broader diocesan mission and to understand their roles in fostering unity and service within the Church.
In his concluding speech, the Bishop addressed the assembly, sharing his mission concerns and aspirations for the diocese. He urged the attendees to avoid isolation, emphasizing the importance of unity. “We must not become our own islands,” he stated, “but rather pray and serve united as one diocese.” The Mission Orientation Program was a significant step towards strengthening the community’s resolve to work together in faith and service, reinforcing the diocese’s commitment to its mission and the greater good.
