Kalaburagi, December 21, 2024 – The Inter-Religious Forum for Peace and Justice organized an Inter-Religious Christmas Celebration at Mother Teresa Hall, bringing together leaders from various faiths to foster unity and goodwill.
The event witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries, including Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga; Rev. Sumanth Saradagi; Dr. Khaji Hamid Faisal Siddiqui; Sri Fauzia Tharunnam, Deputy Commissioner of Kalaburagi District; Rajayogini Shivalila Behanji, and others.
As a part of the Christmas celebration, three children requiring early intervention were gifted wheelchairs, while educational scholarships were awarded to meritorious students. These gestures of kindness were highlights of the event. Students from St. Mary’s PU College and High School captivated the audience with cultural dances and tableaux depicting the message of Christmas.
Addressing the gathering, Bishop Robert Miranda emphasized the Church’s contributions in the realms of education, faith, social development, and healthcare. Deputy Commissioner Fauzia Tharunnam commended the Christian community’s significant role in the development of Kalaburagi and the nation. The celebration, which saw the participation of nearly 200 people, concluded on a note of harmony and shared joy, underscoring the spirit of Christmas.
