Ujini, May 18, 2024- The Silver Jubilee celebration of Christ the King Mission Ujini was inaugurated with great fanfare and spiritual fervor on May 18, 2024. The event marked a significant milestone in the mission’s history, highlighting 25 years of dedicated service to the community.
The celebrations commenced with the inauguration of the newly constructed Christ the King Function Hall and Presbytery, performed by Fr. Clary D’Souza, Dean of Bidar Deanery, in the presence of esteemed guests and faithful parishioners. The facilities were blessed by the Most Reverend Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, adding a sacred touch to the proceedings.
A short felicitation program followed the inaugurations. Distinguished guests graced the dais, including Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga; Rev. Fr. Stany Lobo, Vicar General; Fr. Clary D’Souza; Avinash M.A.; Director of the Minority Office; Sri Darukalinaga; Shivalinga Mata and Sri Majid Maulana, a prominent leader from the Muslim community. Fr. Sunil Andrade, the Parish Priest of Christ the King Church, Ujini, extended a warm welcome to all attendees.
During his speech, Sri Darukalinaga, Shivalinga Mata, emphasized India’s rich tradition of religious respect and highlighted the Christian community’s significant contributions to societal service. Bishop Robert Miranda, in his presidential address, underscored the importance of community spirit and unity in fostering humanity.
The celebrations also featured a Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Bishop Miranda along with guest priests, setting a solemn and reverent tone for the day. The event included the Word of God, praise and worship sessions, and a vigil night as a spiritual preparation for Pentecost Day.
