“Release the Human Rights Activists from the Prison”. Shouting these slogans and holding the Picture Fr Stan Swami, the activists and NGO members from Kalaburagi marched towards Deputy Commissioner’s office on 8th July 2021. ‘The death of Fr Stan Swami is a murder committed by the government’, said Dr. K. Neela, Regional president for Janwadi Movement, leading the group. She added with anguish, the Government has to look into this issue and stop punishing the activists who are raising the voices on behalf of voiceless people.
The rally began from the Super market, and paused at Jagat circle to pay respectful Homage to Fr Stan Swami, and moved further to DCs office. Around 60 people including priests and nuns took part in the rally.
– Following were demands placed before the President of India through DC Kalaburagi.
1. Arrest the culprits behind the death of Fr Stan Swami.
2. Release the 15 Human Rights Activists from the Prison at the earliest
3. Ban the UAPA Act
