The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) of Gulbarga Deanery celebrated its Convention Day on Saturday, February 15, at the Mother of Divine Grace Cathedral, Kalaburagi. The event witnessed the participation of around 120 children from various parishes, including Wadi, Shahabad, Chittapur, Sedam, Chincholli, Kotnoor, and Sirnur.
The program began with an introductory talk by Fr. Abhishek Moses, the Secretary of the Evangelization Commission, who enlightened the children about the missionary nature of the Diocese of Gulbarga. The children were then spiritually prepared for the Sacrament of Confession and Adoration, fostering a deeper connection with their faith.
The highlight of the day was the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, and concelebrated by priests from various participating parishes. The Eucharistic celebration strengthened the missionary spirit among the children, emphasizing their role in spreading the Gospel.
To encourage learning and engagement, various competitions were organized, including Bible Patana, Bible Skit, Bible Quiz, and Fancy Dress. Children from Chittapur, Wadi, and Shahabad excelled in these activities and were awarded prizes for their outstanding performances.
In his concluding address, Bishop Robert Miranda highlighted that missionary zeal is an inherent part of Christian life, urging the children to embrace their calling with enthusiasm. He appreciated the efforts of Fr. Joseph Praveen and Fr. Aron Vas, who meticulously organized the entire event, ensuring its smooth execution. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Fr. Aron Vas.
The MCA Convention Day was a memorable and faith-filled experience, inspiring the young participants to deepen their missionary commitment and grow in their love for Christ.
