Bhalki: The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) of Gulbarga Diocese launched its Jubilee Year 2025 with a grand celebration, Chinnara Mahotsav 2025, held from January 12 to 14 at the Infant Jesus Shrine in Bhalki. The event brought together around 400 MCA children who participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talents and deepening their faith. The three-day program was designed to inspire and nurture the spiritual lives of the young participants. It featured various activities, including faith-nourishing talks delivered by resource persons, prayer services, adorations, and engaging group competitions. Events like Bible Patana, skits, and Bible quizzes fostered teamwork and allowed the children to exhibit their creativity and knowledge of the faith.
Fr. Maxim, the Regional Secretary, addressed the gathering on the theme “Pilgrimage of Hope in Our Life.” His message encouraged the children to view life as a journey guided by faith and trust in God. Bishop Robert Miranda, in his message, described children as the “hope of pilgrimage,” emphasizing their vital role in the family and community. He urged families to cultivate a habit of daily family prayers to strengthen spiritual foundations. The event also saw active participation from the clergy and religious, with 15 sister animators and 12 priests accompanying the children. The ICYM youth offered their valuable assistance, ensuring the smooth execution of the program. Prayerful adorations, led by Fr. Clary D’Souza and Fr. David, created an atmosphere of deep reverence and spiritual renewal. Sr Margaret, The Regional Secretary brought life with her talks and action songs.
The event ran seamlessly under the meticulous organization of Fr. Abhishek Moses, the Diocesan Secretary for Evangelization, and the team played a key role in coordinating the activities, alongside the dedicated efforts of volunteers and animators. The event concluded with heartfelt blessings from the Bishop, who commended the children for their active participation and encouraged them to continue growing in faith. Chinnara Mahotsav 2025 was a resounding success, setting a hopeful and celebratory tone for the Jubilee Year ahead.
